The air at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion was thick with humidity and anticipation on a sweltering Tuesday night. But if the heat was a problem, nobody told The Offspring. The band, in the midst of their Supercharged Worldwide in ’25 tour, unleashed a blistering set of old school punk anthems and newer jams that turned the already steamy venue into a full-on furnace. From the moment they hit the stage, it was clear that Dexter Holland, Noodles, Todd Morse, Brandon Pertzborn, and Jonah Nimoy were here to prove that even after all these years, they’re not just a nostalgia act.

The show kicked off with "Come Out and Play" and "All I Want," instantly setting a frantic pace that never let up. The crowd, a sprawling mix of Gen X veterans and younger fans, erupted in a sea of moshing and singalongs that stretched from the barrier all the way to the back of the lawn. The band fed off this energy, with Noodles and Jonah Nimoy trading off searing guitar riffs and Todd Morse laying down a rock-solid rhythm section alongside Brandon Pertzborn’s relentless drumming. The band’s latest album, Supercharged, was well represented, with new tracks like "Looking Out for #1" and "Make It All Right" holding their own against the classics.

But this wasn't just a concert; it was a spectacle. The stage was framed by an incredible LED display that flashed with vibrant, high-octane graphics, perfectly synchronized to every beat. Explosive pyrotechnics punctuated key moments, sending plumes of fireworks up to the ceiling. The theatrics reached a new peak before the band’s tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. As Dexter Holland introduced the covers, a pair of giant, smoking skeletons were inflated on either side of the stage, adding a macabre but fitting touch to the proceedings. The band then tore through covers of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train,” followed by instrumental takes on Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated," showing off their versatility and deep musical roots.

The energy was infectious. During "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)," enormous inflatable bouncing balls were launched into the crowd, turning the pit into a playful, chaotic playground. Later, in a rare moment of quiet, the stage transformed for an intimate, acoustic performance of "Gone Away" with Dexter on the piano, proving that beneath the punk fury, there's a powerful emotional core.

The show was a perfect blend of high-octane punk rock, stunning visuals, and genuine fun. As the band roared through an encore of "You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid" and the timeless "Self Esteem," the crowd gave it everything they had left. The Offspring didn’t just play a show; they put on a masterclass in how to command a stage. On a night when the heat index was through the roof, they proved they could bring even more fire.
