Black Stone Cherry rolled into the intimate confines of The Queen on Wednesday and proceeded to prove that even a tight room can feel like a packed arena. The Kentucky quartet, road-worn and more forceful than ever, delivered a two-hour masterclass in modern southern rock, opening the night with the riff-heavy swagger of “Me and Mary Jane.”

The band wasn’t content to simply coast on hits like the blistering “White Trash Millionaire” and the stomping “Like I Roll.” They took the opportunity to display fresh material, including two tracks set to anchor their upcoming EP, due in March 2026. The new single, “Celebrate,” was pure, anthemic BSC a massive hook delivered with frontman Chris Robertson’s signature grit. Later in the set, the audience was treated to the soulful groove of “Neon Eyes,” hinting at a promising, slightly deeper direction for the forthcoming release.

Mid-set, the band truly dug into the archive of American music with a deep-fried surprise: Tracy Chapman’s iconic “Give Me One Reason.” What followed was a raunchy, raw rendition that stripped the blues classic down to its electric core, giving it a whole new level of visceral intensity. Not long after, during a powerhouse rendition of “Cheaper to Drink Alone,” drummer Fred Young absolutely annihilated his kit, delivering a dizzying, explosive solo that served as the song’s chaotic centerpiece, leaving the crowd breathless.

The final surge, fueled by the perennial crowd-pleaser “Blame It on the Boom Boom,” showcased the band’s undeniable live chemistry. Closing the night with the furious, road-tested energy of “Lonely Train,” Black Stone Cherry solidified their place as one of the last true keepers of the hard rock flame. They came, they played new songs, and they left a trail of ringing ears and satisfied southern rock souls.
